SUPERVISION · QUALIFIED THERAPISTS & SPECIALISTS

Clinical supervision

Good supervision is more than case management and risk containment. At its best it’s a space for genuine reflection on the work, on yourself as a practitioner, and on the values and frameworks that shape how you practise. That’s what I aim to offer.

I’m currently completing my clinical supervision qualification, which means I’m offering supervision as a supervisor in training at a ‘pay what you can’ rate. I am currently looking for supervises in general practice or working in specialisms. For therapists working in psychosexual practice, LGBTQ+ affirming work, kink-aware therapy or neurodivergent-informed approaches, I bring specialist knowledge and lived understanding.

“The best supervision I’ve received has felt less like oversight and more like thinking alongside someone who genuinely understands the work. That’s the kind of supervisor I’m working to become.”

What I offer

I currently offer individual clinical supervision as a supervisor in training. I am completing my Diploma in Clinical Supervision and working under the oversight of an experienced supervisor myself, which means the work is grounded, supported and held to a professional standard throughout.

During my training period I am offering supervision on a pay what you can basis. This means you decide what you pay, based on what is genuinely manageable for you. There is no minimum, no obligation to explain your decision and no judgement about what you offer. The intention is to make quality specialist supervision accessible while I build my supervisory practice.

Once qualified, I will offer individual and group supervision at a standard fee. If you begin supervision with me during my training period, we will discuss the transition to standard fees, where appropriate, openly and with plenty of notice.

I offer supervision in three formats, depending on what you need:

Primary supervision — ongoing individual supervision as your main supervisor, with session length and frequency that suits you. Suitable for qualified therapists in who want a supervisor with specialist knowledge at the centre of their reflective practice.

Secondary supervision — for therapists who already have a primary supervisor but are working with clients in specialist areas (psychosexual, LGBTQ+, kink-aware, neurodivergent, relationships) and want additional specialist input alongside their existing supervision arrangement.

One-off or short-term specialist consultation — a single session or ad-hoc for a specific case (or cases), clinical question or area of practice. No ongoing commitment required. Particularly useful when a case falls outside the expertise of your current supervisor.

All supervision is held online via video call or in-person at my office in Stoke, Staffordshire. I am happy to provide a supervision contract and written records to meet BACP or other professional body requirements.

What I bring to supervision

My clinical background spans psychosexual therapy, relationships counselling, LGBTQ+ affirming practice, kink-aware therapy, neurodivergent-informed approaches and work with young people.

Anti-oppressive practice runs through everything I do, including supervision. That means attending to how power operates in the supervisory relationship itself, as well as in the therapeutic work we’re reflecting on. It means being curious about how identity, privilege and systemic inequality shape both the therapist’s experience and the client’s, and bringing that lens consistently rather than only when it feels obvious.

As a queer, neurodivergent therapist I bring lived understanding alongside clinical expertise. For supervisees working with LGBTQ+ clients, neurodivergent clients or those from communities that have historically been harmed by therapy, that quality of understanding in a supervisor can make a significant difference to the quality and depth of the supervisory conversation.

I approach supervision as a collaborative, non-hierarchical relationship. In practice that means: I won’t tell you what to do with your clients. I will think alongside you. I will notice things, name things and ask questions, but the expertise about your clients sits with you, not with me. I’m interested in creating a space where your thinking can expand, not one where my perspective replaces yours.

Good supervision holds the whole practitioner, not just the cases. Alongside case reflection and clinical thinking, there’s space in our supervision for the impact of the work on you: vicarious trauma, parallel process, countertransference, the particular weight of working in this field. This is something I believe is essential to sustainable practice.

Who this supervision is for

This supervision is particularly well suited to qualified therapists in private practice who are working  (or want to work) in specialist areas including psychosexual therapy, LGBTQ+ affirming practice, kink-aware therapy, neurodivergent-informed approaches or work with young people. If you are working with clients whose lives sit outside the mainstream, this could be the right fit.

It is also well suited to therapists who already have a primary supervisor but encounter cases that fall outside their supervisor’s specialist knowledge. Secondary supervision offers a dedicated space for that work without requiring you to change your main supervisory arrangement. And for a single complex case or clinical question, one-off specialist consultation means you can access specific expertise without any ongoing commitment.

It may also be a good fit for therapists who want supervision that takes anti-oppressive practice seriously. And to those who are looking for a supervisory relationship that feels collaborative and human rather than hierarchical and evaluative.
